Public Health is understood as a “scientific field where knowledge about health is produced and where different courses operate (epidemiology, social sciences in health, and planning and management) and a set of practices“, especially those focused on the Unified Health System.

It covers studies related to the health of the elderly and the aging process’ dynamics.

It contemplates studies focused on health planning and the analysis and assessment of policies, programs, services, management processes and health technologies.

It covers studies on health-related events and their determination from the physical, social, economic, and political environment.
